Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Mytch, you' re right. Updating from 2017.1 to 2017.3 (it is free) everything seems to work correctly. I try to open more than 40 labels from different threads without crash. Fantastic. Another question. There are important differences and/or improvements between sdk 2017.3 and latest sdk 2019 ?

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Now I can't check exactly but if I'm not wrong I have a 2017.1 version. Is the update to 2017.3 free or I have to purchase a new licence? I don't understand what do you mean when you write "moving the PrintEngine Shutdown allows all 4 labels to be opened and printed without an issues (sometimes)". F...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Ok, some step away….I try to change the signature of the call of OpenLabel using FStream and I doscover that when this method is invoked it creates some .tmp file in "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\" . For some reason these tmp file creates a kind of conflict when I restart the app so if I del...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Mmm...no Mytch it doesn't work. Anyway threads stopped before calling ShutDown(). I use the join method to wait for all threads finished. I tried moving Console.Readline() before shutting down PrintEngine but with the same results. I tried also to force interrupt for all threads but it still crash. ...

Re: Framing Error

Ok I understand. I suppose that USB connection can help you to speed up things. You can use driver if you print from nicelabel using sdk. It you still prefer to print without nicelabel unique address and permanent connection. The initial connection is slow but then the communication (send/read) from...

Re: Framing Error

You could use Sato SDK to send SBPL commands or Nicelabel SDK. As you prefer. I use SATO SDK to connect to printer via USB using unique address for connection bypassing driver to speed up communication to check printer status and then nicelabel sdk to open labels, edit variables and print.

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Still no luck with my tryouts. I tried almost everything. Using threads, tasks, putting a Sleep() before shutting down printengine. No way. It is not stable. Any news from devs?

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Mytch the problem is that application crash before arriving to printAsync invoke. The strange thing is that sometimes the crash does not occurs. It is certainly related to some printengine resource ( linked to iLabel) that is not thread-safe.

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Additional info...Non every crash happens with the same label. It occurs randomly to all labels. I try putting openlabel in a try/catch statement and sometimes it crash on a label, sometimes on 2 labels. It seems that printEngine can't use OpenLabel method in multiple parallel threads

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

I Mitch, the variable "Commessa" esists, the crash happens before accessing variable (It is only a simple example) , it appears when OpenLabel method is invoked. Everything works well if I open labels one by one in a foreach loop and store them in a dictionary for later access. It is very strange. I...
