Re: Mixed Printing Jobs

RMatthews, You mention NiceForm, so probably you are using NiceLabel 6 or older, which is end of life now: https://www.nicelabel.com/products/specifications/product-lifecycle-policy Nonetheless, there are three things that could be causing this: Bug in software Bug in driver Bug in firmware We recom...

Re: Alert variables in Control Center

jcheevers, Yes, exactly what I was describing where logic of setting the label itself is failing - not the label print itself. Printing error of a label will provide the name of the label having an issue. But if you have an error about setting the label name itself, then technically this is not a la...

Re: Alert variables in Control Center

jcheevers, Sometimes Automation can have errors that are not related to the label/printing process. For example, if you have an error during data processing or using some Trigger logic prior to setting the label name. If label is unknown at time of error, this field will be blank. Please let us know...

Re: EPC - SN based TID

Cavallari, This is currently only supported with Zebra printers on NiceLabel 8.2 driver and NiceLabel Designer 2019.2. Otherwise, if you have knowledge about the printer language, sometimes you can send TCP/IP message to hardware directly and return the current TID. screenshot_16.jpg If RFID tag is ...

Re: load provisional values for all variables in Designer Print menu

christian, You can already export all variable information to an XML structured ".NLVR" file via Dynamic Data Manager > Export Variables. This includes all Initial Values and Provisional Values for variables. What other functionality do you need here? It is not ".values" format, but surely you can e...

Re: Textflow from one side to another

Edvardas, We've seen similar problems or requests like this in the past, where users want to have text "overflow" into another textbox at a certain point (or with excessive content). This isn't really supported in every scenario, but there are some options. Easiest one is to create two subset functi...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Mytch, you' re right. Updating from 2017.1 to 2017.3 (it is free) everything seems to work correctly. I try to open more than 40 labels from different threads without crash. Fantastic. Another question. There are important differences and/or improvements between sdk 2017.3 and latest sdk 2019 ? Mar...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Margy, As discussed, I and Development have confirmed the sample application is workable under certain scenarios. Having background threads will terminate once the main has, so results can be inconsistent with this configuration. Nonetheless, moving the PrintEngine Shutdown allows all 4 labels to be...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Many thanks Mytch, sorry for the disturb Margy, I received response from development about this. They seem to agree that print engine is being shut down too early. Moving to after final readline allows program to work (sometimes). Here is exact response: "You cannot shutdown the print engine while ...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Still no luck with my tryouts. I tried almost everything. Using threads, tasks, putting a Sleep() before shutting down printengine. No way. It is not stable. Any news from devs? Margy, There is a developer currently reviewing the information and will provide input soon. Please be patient, as develo...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

One quick thing... What if you try to comment printEngine.Shutdown(); and then try to print async. I actually just changed two small things and everything works and prints: foreach (Thread thread in threads) { thread.Join(); } foreach (string key in labelsDictionary.Keys) { labelsDictionary[key].Pri...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Additional info...Non every crash happens with the same label. It occurs randomly to all labels. I try putting openlabel in a try/catch statement and sometimes it crash on a label, sometimes on 2 labels. It seems that printEngine can't use OpenLabel method in multiple parallel threads Okay, so mayb...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Margy, Thanks for that. I took a quick look and issues only seem to be related to labelType list and labelsDictionary that is used for setting label paths: screenshot_16.jpg If full label path is used with printEngine.OpenLabel, there are no errors and application completes fine (as long as Commessa...

Re: Openlabel Method in parallel threads

Hi Mytch, the problem is that I need to use OpenLabel method in parallel threads to speed up loading phase. PrintAsync of more labels already opened works well but I need to previously open those label more quickly. I use System.Threading, but I tried also with Task Factory and Background Worker wi...
