Suggest communicating with your local support team and email your label file, Nicewatch configuration file and sample job files. The techs can review your configuration for anything that is out of the ordinary.

It doesnt have to be blocked. Another process on the PC could be using the port. The reason that the NiceWatch Manager and the NiceWatch Server communicates through TCP/IP is for distributed management of the system in our Enterprise Editions through our web based management tools. With the entry le...

Fabianus,

The 'Print to File' is a feature of NiceLabel Pro, but is not available in the Demo version. We do require that you purchase a license before using this feature.

NiceWatch uses two components, a client (interface) and a server (print engine). These two components communicate via TCP/IP on port 6423. If another application is using the port on the PC or server, NiceWatch will not connect to the server. This can also happen if a firewall or virus program is bl...

Milt, Windows 98 is a 32bit OS like XP. The only issue I can think of is a driver incompatibility or difference from the previous version. Were they using the NiceDriver for the ALX720 on the Win98 system? Your best bet is to email a few of the label formats to your local support group (support@nice...

Most of this can be formatted in the variables in NiceLabel without a script. In the Date variable in NiceLabel, format the output as YY if you only want the year in two digits, or MM if you only want the month in two digits. The serial number can be the same. Just create a 4 digit serial number an ...

The EPS export is only available with a licensed version of NiceLabel. This is why it is not available for you. The error you are receiving for other Export options is telling you that the export function only supports Keyboard Input variables (and printer counters). This is becasue we are exporting...

Does the variable called impressions_total have a value? What may be happening is when you exit the script builder, VB script performs an execution of the script to test. If this variable has a null value, then a null value will be returned from the Fix() function (per the VB script help in NiceLabe...

Excellent! I will submit this to be added to the check digit calculation algorithms that NiceLabel has in VB scripting to make this easier in the future. In the meantime, you can download a sample label that will calculate the check digit and create the final UPC for you at: ftp://ftp.nicewareintl.c...

You can do this, but you will have to add the full path to your JOB file in the LABEL command instead of the relative path to the default label folder.

In the UPC-A specification, the first digit of the code describes the numbering system. This describes to the scanner what type of data the UPC-A code contains. Possible options for the first digit are: 0: Manufacturer identification numbers 1: Reserved 2: Random weight items marked at the store (ar...

RE: Missing data from labels when printing large qty

There is a setting in the Avery NiceDriver (as in many NiceDrivers) to clear the buffer of the previous job. This sends the #!CF EasyPlug command to the printer. The risk here is that this may halt and delete a job that is in process if a job is sent to the printer while another job is in the buffer...
