Re: Dynamically retrieve of label variables

The problem probably lies in the order of actions in your Automation configuration.
I don't have the config, just the screenshots, but the action "Open Label" and subsequent actions have to be moved to the "right".

Code: Select all

1 Use Data Filter
1.1 For each line
1.1.1 Open Label
...
That should do the trick.

Re: Use .dsn file for connecting

The only way to connect dynamically to a database is with the help of scripting. Using the normal database connections this is sadly not possible.

Re: RTF custom formatting

That might be a problem in the underlying code (at least that's what the line number sounds like)... Maybe Saso can tell us more about this, because I don't see anything wrong in your code at the moment.

Re: ADOConn

Oh, that's the problem.
You should be able to switch the cursor to client side:

Code: Select all

ADOconn.CursorLocation = 3

Re: Automation automatically reconnect database

Hi, I see that Automation is giving an error message... it seems to be trying to reconnect to the database, but fail for some reason ("no listener"). I am not sure if that is an issue on the side of Automation or the database. Could you please contact your local support (support@nicelabel.de) so we ...

Re: text format for text from database

The new version 6.3 added additional functionality to support this EU regulation, easily formatting a list of ingredients with the help of a list of allergens. With your version 5, you can use the "old" solution we provided for this which you can find in multiple places in these forums (a quick sear...

Re: ADOConn

To be honest, this is not an issue with NiceLabel but with VBScripting, so I'm not sure if we can help you.
I'm not if I understood, what your issue is, because having the cursor go through the record set is pretty normal. Could you explain where exactly you are having problems?

Re: Can we print in pdf file?

Probably an issue with caching on my end. This morning I got Automation to error because of the missing graphic. Afterwards I copied the image back to the graphics folder defined in Automation configuration and triggered it again. This resulted in no error but also a wonderful print as pdf. I honest...

Re: Dynamically retrieve of label variables

Hi, if the dynamic structure is enabled (or you are using an unstructured file filter), you don't need to import any variables that contain data for the label at all. The only variables you need to create are ones that contain information needed in the actions (like label name, printer name, number ...

I can't reproduce the error at the moment. I will try again tomorrow, maybe I forgot to delete a copy of the image in one of the directories that Automation searches in...

Re: Dynamically retrieve of label variables

Hi, depending on which type of filter you are using, you can find the option for this in different areas. Structured Text: You can find the option in Settings > General > Data Structure dynamic1.PNG Unstructured Text: Using this filter always uses "auto mapping" thanks to the assignment area and its...

Re: Can we print in pdf file?

@Tymur: We have heard from problems with PDFCreator (and other similar tools) many times, but I am not sure if the cause of this has ever been identified. As you said, normal printers work fine, so the problem isn't in Automation itself. Sometimes different versions of the PDFCreator have helped. @f...
