Re: RTF custom formatting

If you have a license for version 6 of the NiceLabel Designers, then you can download it for free. All updates within one major release are without charge.

You can find the updates on our homepage in the rightmost column.

Re: RTF custom formatting

Hi, DB connection placement: It doesn't really matter where you put the logic for the DB connection, it really depends on what you are trying to achieve. The only thing you shouldn't do (in most cases anyways) is connecting it in both the form and the label, as this might lead to strange results. Th...

Re: printing multiple label templates in a group

Hi, to print multiple labels in NiceForm, just use multiple "Open Label" and "Print Label" commands in one action list (e.g. for a button). How you want to handle the serial number is your choice. You can either control it in the form or just have a counter variable in all 3 labels. As long as they ...

Re: Rich-Text aus MS Access-DB inkl. Formatierung in NiceLab

Re: VB Script Empty fields

You could try and output the value of fld_Destinatario on the label and see what it is when the if statement doesn't evaluate to true.
Maybe display the length of it alongside (a simple Len() VBScript), to know that it actually is an empty string if nothing is displayed.

That's exactly how you can do it, great that it works now. :)

Re: Warn of invalid entry on a Form

Hi, your 2nd piece of code probably doesn't work because UserClass <> "Pick" is a boolean expression (it evaluates to true or false) and doesn't do anything on its own. The 3rd line in your 1st piece of code doesn't do anything, so you can safely delete the 3rd line in both of your pieces of code an...

Re: VB Script Empty fields

In general your first script should work... Maybe the fields aren't empty, but contain a space as in " "?
You could change the first if statement to

Code: Select all

if Trim(fld_Destinatario) <> "" then
and see if that works.

Re: Use a generated variable to print variable No. of labels

The problem lies in how the "Variable quantity" option is enabled in the print dialog: Just setting a variable to be used as label quantity for some reason isn't enough. At least one variable (in my example the BoxesRequired) has to be set to "Based on variable quantity" in the Prompting tab in its ...

Re: Error ID 103009 Invalid Variable Length!

I think the problem is the Memo field in Access: It seems like an RTF field (you can use bold fonts and many other things) but that is done with HTML tags and not actual RTF code. Those tags are not visible in Access itself, but NiceLabel will just import them as plain text, and with all those added...

Re: Use a generated variable to print variable No. of labels

Hi, I created a sample label where you can look at the settings required to make this work. Working with quantity this way is a bit unituitive from the designer, which is why we recommend printing with NiceForm in these situations, but it is doable. Your users will just have to remember to hit "Fini...

Re: Out of Memory Errors

You can try and release the memory for the label and see if that helps with the error.

Code: Select all

LabelIntf = Nothing
But I'm not sure if that will fix the issue, haven't heard of this error before. :/

Re: Partial variable printing

Hi, displaying the last 4 digits can easily be done with a built in subset function: subset.PNG If the length of the serial number varies (and therefore the offset would need to change) the easiest way would be a one line script. Replacing the dash can also be done with a one line vb script: Result ...

Re: Persistent Variables?

I'm still not quite sure I understand how/when you enter the date. Is it set once or changed manually sometimes?
Do you print from the Designer or Forms?

Re: Print preview

Hi,
you can find the option to switch between these two modes in the menu "View". The first option "Normal" will display the question marks with the maximum variable length. The second option "Data" will display last seen data for the variables.
