Selectively printing labels from flat file data

Post by nollster » Tue Aug 20, 2019 6:38 pm

We will be printing slides via flat file. In this example, I want to set initial variables based on the first row, but I don't want to actually print the slide label (via job file?) until the last row sharing the initial task (row 3). I'd want to set the specimen ID value to the current row's value, then print the last 3 rows individually since they are different tasks. I have a copy of NiceLabel 6 currently, but we'll be moving to NiceLabel 2019, if that makes a difference. I started out with setting my initial variables and I know I can loop through each row, but am I able to set the row/create the print job file when I find the change in task?

Nollster,

Please take a look at the attached sample, it will take a combination of 2 filters and a data string to specify the end of the records so it can be grabbed.

Thanks for the example. I can't configure my file as you have, but it's given me tons of ideas on where I can go. I have limited experience with NIceLabel, so didn't realize you could use multiple filters!
