Retrieve variable list from lbl

Post by ruddy32 » Tue Dec 08, 2009 2:38 pm

Hi,
A customer store labels on a web server. This server cannot be installed with ActiveX component. Is there a way to retrieve variable list from lbl file without using ActiveX programming ?

Sorry, but this is not possible to automate differently than via ActiveX.

What you can do, is to manually open a label in NiceLabel and click on Data->Export Variables menu item. This will create an INI file with variable data inside.

Hope this helps 8)

We have already think about this solution but the customer need an automatic process (sqa constrain) to avoid end-user error.

It would be helpfull to have a light COM composant that allow to retrieve informations from label documents. The best way would be a standard XML label format.

Thanks.

Hello,

We are thinking in XML way for the future, but at present we are stuck with compound files. When NiceLabel was designed (version 1) compound files were the right way to go.

I don't understand the bit about the COM component...if you can install a COM component....install NiceLabel and use it's COM interface :)
