Lookup for printer using the Scanned Barcode

Post by LupinePet » Mon Sep 25, 2017 3:48 pm

I'd like an option that selects a printer from the database file and prints to that particular printer.

Example:

if numbers are [Range of numbers] select printer 1 Example 1,3,5,33,39,54
if numbers are [different range of numbers] select printer 2 Example 2,4,30,98,75
if numbers are [yet another Range] select printer 3 Example 6,8,12,24

Scan the barcode
Example: xxxxxx303336 Check digits are 33 so printer 1 would be selected.

The vbscript would check the barcode for the last 2 digits before the checksum digit (33 in this case) and using this information look up the label in the database to select the correct printer from the derived information. The database would have the name of form it corresponds to as an input and select the form.(make it active) The barcode would then be placed in the form and then sent to the printer as a batch.
This would make automation much easier.

Lupine,

Please send an email to support.americas@nicelabel.com with your request and we can submit this as a feature request for future releases of nicelabel. Also, the support team may be able to help troubleshoot your issue with printing.

Thanks,
