Send data to TCP/IP without response

Post by Rahm » Mon Mar 18, 2019 12:28 pm

Hi all,

I am currently struggeling with sending/receiving data to a TCP/IP port.
I am using the newest NL Version 19.0 (Build 3753) printing on a SATO M-8485Se.

I designed a Solution which is using Action "Send data to TCP/IP port" by pressing a button sending standard SATO Commands "<STX> <ENQ> <ETX>" to recieve back status information related to the printer. Therefor I am using "Save response to variable".

Running this Solution directly in the Nicelabel Designer is working properly by receiving and saving the right data to the variable.
After publishing and releasing the solution in the Control Center and trying to execute the same calling NL Web Printing via any web browser, I am not getting a response at all and the variable value stays empty.

What is the difference between running the solution in Designer and Web Printing and what exactly is the reason for not getting a response?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Rahm,

Please upgrade to the latest release of NiceLabel 2019.

This problem has been resolved in 2019.0.1 (build 3817).

Hi Saso,

thanks for the quick response!
The latest version has been qualified in our company already.
Is there another possibility to fix that problem?

Unfortunately, not. :?
You need a new version.

You just need a new NiceLabel Web Client - the client installed on the user's side.
You can keep the server side of things intact.
