Appending a quantity to a 2D barcode

Post by ctruggles » Wed Aug 09, 2017 2:01 pm

HI, I have a 2D barcode that is linked to an access database so when a specific lot # is entered, it pulls up the correct information to the 2D barcode. I now need to have the quantity that is manually entered, append to the end of that 2D barcode. How do I make this happen?

Thanks,
Collin R.

Update: I am using the Nice Label Pro software. Not the 2017 version.

Hi Collin,

Well, you can always use the Concatenate function (Data->Functions) to merge various fields together into a new variable. Then you can use this new function-generated variable as data source for your 2D code.

Does the data that you encode into QR code follows some encoding standard (such as GS1-128 or similar)? Surely, you have to delimit the data fields inside 2D code somehow? Field1 is information from database, field2 is quantity.
Do you need some prefixes in front of the fields?

You can use Concatenate function, or you can use some other data-encoding function that is available in NiceLabel Pro.

Can you provide more information about what are you trying to encode?

Saso, I was able to figure out how to resolve my issue by playing around for a while longer on the program. Thank you very much for the reply.
