Control Center settings in designer

Post by meedo » Tue May 09, 2017 8:45 pm

I want to set address for Control Center in Designer options, but I always get error: Connection to Control Center server failed.

What is correct URL address?

I have tried:
http://servername
http://servername/EPM
http://servername/EPM/
http://servername/epm
http://servername/epm/

Also with https, IP and wc-nicelabel.domain. servername has - in name if this maybe can be a problem?

I think it is related to this error in event log:
The exception message is: The authentication schemes configured on the host ('IntegratedWindowsAuthentication') do not allow those configured on the binding 'BasicHttpBinding' ('Anonymous'). Please ensure that the SecurityMode is set to Transport or TransportCredentialOnly.

I found solution. I need to edit web.config as it is in manual for https.

But now I am getting new error when I try to run Designer: "You are not authorized to run this program.".

The installation for NiceLabel 2017.2 brings some useful shortcuts. You no longer have to manually enable HTTPS support in product.config file. There is "enable HTTPS" option directly in the installer.

Regarding your problem, make sure the settings in the "Security Profiles" in Administrator tab are valid for your user. Security Profiles define access level to Control Center (what you can do / see in Control Center) and in the NiceLabel applications themselves (Designer, Automation, etc.)
When you add user to a profile, he will inherit the profile's permissions. When the user is member of multiple profiles, the union of all permissions will take precedence (if one profiles denies access, but another allows access, the user WILL HAVE access).
