Issue during file Trigger with NiceLabel Automation Manager

Post by zieglemi » Fri Jul 20, 2018 1:31 pm

hello!

issue:
since migration from NiceWatch 5 to NiceLabel 2017 Automation Manager we have some times the following error:
we have an error during a "simple" file trigger (File type: JOB file: see attached -- renamed to *.txt):

system informations:
+ NiceLabel 2017: Version 17.3.1 (Build 2491) is installed on a Windows 2016 server
+ we are printing through interface from our ERP System (HTTP) triggered
+ destination of Printerqueue is allways "print to file"

this is the header error:
Timestamp ID Name Description
20.07.2018 10:58:50.436 Action "Print Label" An error occurred during session print.

20.07.2018 10:58:50.621 EA01___20180720105849_13.000 Printing aborted. A StartDocPrinter call was not issued.

this are the detail error messages:
Timestamp ID Name Description
20.07.2018 10:58:50.628 Action "Session print" An error occurred during session print.

20.07.2018 10:58:50.635 1.1.1 Action "Run Command File" An error occurred while trying to run the command file defined by the variable "jobname" with the value "C:\nlspooljob\EA01\EA01___20180720105849_13.000.job". An error occurred while trying to execute "Session print" action.

workaround is: start reprint from our ERP System (triggered the same data = content of job file is the same!) it works??

any ideas?

thx in advance

best regards
michael

Zieglemi

As we do not know what specifically could be causing an issue. We suggested emailing the support team at support.americas@nicelabel.com so they can give you tracing instructions that will generate logs that we can send to our development team for review.

thx for your reply ... this is what i did (send send request to nicelabel support!)

i just got an answer activating tracing and so on ...

but ... one interesting thing is i want to mention:

as described above the goal is to create a printfile during a simple jobfile trigger
this printfile created in a predefined folder.

to check what nicelabel do during this "Session print" i created a small c# program with "fileSystemWatcher" class:

and now see the logfile (see attached) which events are triggerd during this process:

result is that nicelabel *allways* trigger the following events:
event create: seven times
event delete: six times
after the last create the event change: 3 times logged from my tool?

tso now i did the following workaround:
during creating the jobfile and the corresponding textfile i additional create NOW a empty printfile!
--> since that i have only three "change" events and ... no errors!!!

but the question is WHAT the hell is NiceLabel doing during the "print to file" action

additional information: OLD NiceLabel 5 did only fired only 3 times creation event and two time delete event and three time canged!
AND if you do a print to file from NiceLabel Designer ... the same events triggered!

hope this helps maybe someone who have similar issue?

greetings michael
