Starting NicePrint and getting Error ID: 150003

Post by pbussey » Thu Oct 02, 2014 12:16 pm

Hi,

I am using Microsoft Acesss to start NicePrint using the VBA Shell command. This is on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.

I can start NicePrint in this instance:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\EuroPlus\NiceLabel 6\bin\NicePrint.exe

I can also get NicePrint to start and load a label file that is stored locally on my machine.

C:\Program Files (x86)\EuroPlus\NiceLabel 6\bin\NicePrint.exe c:\temp\J80247-059-ISS2-B8.lbl

However, when I load a label from a network location I get error 150003

'Application cannot start because of insufficient user rights. Check user permission.'

I have tried using both a shared drive location and the full path name of the label file. So both paths below give the same error.

F:\nicelabel\My Labels\Labels\J80247-059-ISS2-B8.lbl
\\Aerco1\fserver\nicelabel\My Labels\Labels\J80247-059-ISS2-B8.lbl

I have ensured that the network folder has been given full access rights and I am an administrator.

This may be because we are using linked graphics on the labels and for the labels I am loading, I do not have have access to the image (stored locally on someone else's machine).

We're investigating and I'll post another reply later today.

The problem persists whether the images are embedded or linked (whether I have access to the link or not) - so it is not to do with linked images.

Are you able to open and print the label normally?
Can you make sure that if you call the process like this, the process owner is still your user that has admin rights?
Additionally you could try to make a very simple label, just one plain text on there, and see if you can access that one via network.

This sounds more like a problem with calling the process from VBA than anything else to me.

HI Dennis,

Thanks for your reply.

I've tested the same command lines directly in DOS and get the same issue. So calling NIcePrint with a label stored locally on my PC is okay, but specifying a label file on our network, even though the folder allows full access rights to the label files gives the 15003 error. So this test takes MS Access out of the equation.

To check if this problem is just specific to our environment (it could be something funny with our security - I don't know at the moment), could you confirm Dennis that you can use NicePrint with a command line to load a label file on your own network okay?

The other option I could employ is perhaps creating a job file (just starting to look into this); but there are some labels we need to print that require input.

This might be an issue with your network:
cmd niceprint.PNG
cmd niceprint.PNG (68.2 KiB) Viewed 7277 times
Q is a network share. NicePrint started without any problems with cmd.

Issue Resolved

I neglected to place quotes around the network path of the label file that included spaces.

C:\Program Files (x86)\EuroPlus\NiceLabel 6\bin\NicePrint.exe "F:\Homes\Paul Bussey\AAA_TEST_Label_Paul_Bussey.lbl"

Curiously the application path seems to get away without quotes despite having spaces.
