embedded nicelable 5 and counterpoint

Post by frontyardnursery » Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:07 pm

Nicelabel 5 on windows 7 64 bit laptop. won't run (within Counterpoint) gives first error " invalid or demo label file" which is a lie. second error window says "cannot write to ...Nicelabel 5\system check permissions" also a lie.
third error window " RPC server unavailable"
And then when counterpoint Exits it throws the error "Invalid pointer" and "runtime error 216"
Runs fine on other systems, some 32 bit and even a tablet work fine.

any ideas?? Before we spend big $$ getting our VAR to help...

Hello!

I would suggest you to contact your nearest office directly, as you will need to provide some more info and files in order to get help. Please the contact information of our support centers here: http://www.nicelabel.com/support/technical-support.

From the current description it looks like you are having issues with NiceWatch, so please include in your email next:
- serial number of your product
- label file
- NiceWatch configuration

Regarding permissions error, it might not be a lie. NiceWatch can run as a service, which means that also user who is running this service needs to have full rights on a NiceLabel system folder, to obtain all the needed functionality from there.

If your label was saved when your NiceLabel was in demo mode, then this error again might not be a lie, even if your NiceLabel is activated now.

As you can see there are many things that needs to be checked, so please contact us directly with all the needed files, and please refer this forum thread in your email also.

Thank you and best regards,
Jure
