Designer Express and SDK License

Post by MattiaITA » Mon Apr 23, 2018 5:43 pm

we're having an issue regarding the use of the SDK with an Express installation.

We bought Nicelabel PowerForms Suite 2017 to have access to the SDK to develop a software (.NET) that needed to communicate with Nicelabel. We also bought a Designer Express version to simulate different client environments (since we must detect whether or not the user can use RTF fields).
Running our software with the PowerForms version installed works fine, but when we try to do the same on a PC with the Express version installed (and licensed), the SDK throws an exception with the message "Cannot find a valid license file".

If we open Nicelabel and check the license status, it says that it is licensed and it shows us the correct license number.

Is there a limitation in the SDK?
Did we make the wrong assumption by thinking that SDK would work with any version of Nicelabel or is it just a bug? :-k

Nicelabel version (both installations): 17.3 (build 2332)

No, It is not a bug. See here for the versions available and what each version supports:

You can contact sales if you would want to upgrade your Express license so you'll be able to use SDK.NET
