Nicelabel RTF textbox background color

Post by RdP » Thu Mar 08, 2018 3:56 pm

When inserting an RTF text, the background seems to be white.
I have never noticed this, because most of the labels I created have a white background.
The newest creation has a photo background, so a transparant text box is needed.

Now the problem is, I can't seem to find out where I can change the background color of this textbox into transparant.

Can anyone please help? It would be much appreciated!

In NiceLabel 2017, the RTF object will look transparent on-screen, but when you print it out, it will have the white background.

The UI does not contain any option to enable RTF object transparency.
However, there is a "not documented" option available in the product.config configuration file.

To enable transparent RTF background, do the following:
  1. Close NiceLabel Designer.
  2. Go to this folder:

    Code: Select all

    c:\ProgramData\NiceLabel\NiceLabel 2017
  3. Make backup of a file product.config.
  4. Open file product.config in your favorite text editor (e.g. Notepad).
  5. Locate the Configuration/Common/General element.
  6. Inside the General element create a new element ForceTransparentPrinting.
    You should end up with something like that:

    Code: Select all

    <Configuration>
      <Common>
        <General>
          ...
          <ForceTransparentPrinting>true</ForceTransparentPrinting>
          ...
        </General>
        ...
  7. Save the file.
  8. Start NiceLabel Designer.
You need NiceLabel Designer version 2017.1.1 or above. The print stream (print job sent to the printer) will be larger when this option is enabled.
