Automated print all rows in a database from a JOB file

Post by psycholabel » Wed Mar 23, 2016 10:31 am

Hi all,

I want to print all the rows in a database linked to a design label without user interaction, in an automated printing process.
I created a simple JOB file to try it, but does'nt work. Any help?

Here the few lines of my JOB file:

LABEL "C:\prova.lbl"
SESSIONSTART
SESSIONPRINT UNLIMITED, 0
SESSIONEND
FILECLOSE

I'm using Nicelabel Pro 6.5.1 (Generation 12539)

Thanks,

Angel

The JOB file should be processed without a problem, I do not see any problem in it.

What is the error message that is displayed?

Can you preview the label in NiceLabel Pro, if you manually open the label c:\prova.lbl and select File>Print Preview?

Hi Saso,

the problem is that Nicelabel ask to select the rows.
If I mark UNLIMITED as first parameter, Nicelabel should not print a label for every row in the database?
I need no interaction for printing.

Thanks,

Angel

The problem is in the way you made a connection to the database.
You have configured "record selection", when configuring db connection, so the user can select records before printing.

This will also influence printing from a JOB file. Unfortunately, you cannot override the settings made in the database connection prior printing from JOB. You would have to change the record retrieving to "all records". However, this would also influence "manual printing" from NiceLabel Pro.

If you would use PowerForms Desktop for label printing, there would be a solution (as the record selection would be moved from label into the form).
