Data fields in Nicelabel out of order

Post by schwendo » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:02 pm

Good afternoon

I looked for this problem in the forums and could not find it. If it has been addressed sorry for the redundancy.

I have two labels printing from the same database. The data in the fields in Nice label does not match the order in the CSV file or the .sch file generated when the labels were created.

The labels were created a long time ago and have been working fine up until now. The label file has not been changed.
I tried relinking the database but get an error
Table cannot be opened!
TGpTextfile(path name)Failed to reset file.error code 3.

I guess I am looking for a way to find out what order nicelabel thinks the fields are other then the sch file.
I dont want to make a new label with a different name due the confusion factor.

The error suggests that the text file you are using as a database on the label cannot be found.
Is the text file accessible in the path defined in the label?
For testing try to place the text file in the same folder with the label.

Which version/build of NiceLabel do you have?

SCH file defines the structure of fields in the CSV file. It is created the first time you define a connection to the CSV and is remembered in the LBL file. So technically, you do not need SCH file anymore, once you have a link to CSV created in a label.

Thanks for the reply.

We are using nicelabel pro version 5.21 with 35 users running under CITRIX. We have 30 label printers distributed in 10 locations. We plan on applying the latest patch soon.

Some of the file not found issues are most likely CITRIX related. The main issue is the Fields being in a different order all of a sudden. The label was not modified in 4 months and was working fine until yesterday.
I was able to redefine the fields and get it going but I am looking to prevent it reoccurring.

The data file is in the same directory as the label and nice label has the correct path to the data.

Thanks
