How to encode date on label

Post by bryanc » Wed Aug 24, 2011 6:26 pm

Hi,

I'd like to add a date code to some of my labels. I would like to utilize the auto generated date (based on the label printing date) however, I'd like the format to read "036H". 036 would be the 36th day of the year, and "H" would be a number assigned to the year 2011. I would like to create a table or database that would define the year 2011 as "H", 2012 as "I", 2013 as J......and so on.

What's the easiest way to go about this?

Regards,
Bryan

I would suggest using a visual basic script. I've attached a label so you see what I mean...
modifiedDateValue.lbl

Dear Dado!

Could you help me in this case? I have the same problem with date encoding, but i have different format. My format is DDMMYY, but the coding type this:
year - 2000 + 35;
month + 40;
day + 34;

so today is 544660 Year(2charcters)Month(2characters)Day(2characters)
I tried to modify your script what you wrote, but it did not work.

Regards,

Bence
