Rich Text Box & Boundaries?

We're evaluating NiceLabel Pro and are fairly impressed so far. The SDK and the documentation are quite good.

We have one requirement that we have not been able to make work. For our organic products we need to add the EU Organic logo and have the text of the ingredients flow around the logo. We've found out how to do this with Boundaries for a Text Box but we need Rich Text for the ingredients so we can print the allergens in Bold.

Am I overlooking something, is there a workaround or some other way to make this work?

Thanks in advance.

RyanP,

Unfortunately, there is no Boundaries option for the RTF object. We'd recommend opening a support case https://www.nicelabel.com/support/technical-support as our support team can work with you to try to find a workaround

We investigated this a bit further ourselves and have come up with a workaround.

In the RTF Object it's possible to insert a graphic and set it's location and how text flows around it.

Since we're producing the content of the RTF Object dynamically out of a database we ended up needed to piece together the RTF code to make it work.

We're not quite there yet with the finer details but it looks good.

For anyone wanting to try this here's a few tips we found out:
- the editor in Nice adds a lot of RTF code that is not really needed so you can slim this down quite a bit
- graphics can be scaled in the RTF code however the actual content of the graphic is embedded in the RTF code, larger graphics that are scaled down result in 100s of extra lines of RTF code, we found it better to use graphics edited to the final size for the label.
