Smartdate X40

Postby gpick24 » Fri Apr 12, 2013 8:46 pm

Hi,
We`ve just had a smartdate X40 printer installed and was wondering if nicelabel is compatible with it.
It came with colos create which is the same software we had with old printer ( smartdate 3i ) but doesn`t suit our needs.
I had a bit of a play with the demo version today but couldn`t get it to work, from what I was told by engineer, there is only two ways to send labels to printer, by USB stick & by ethernet cable.
I`ve tried both ways but as of yet, not had any success.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
GPick.

I see you already have it sorted, but just for everybody else::

A FAT32 formatted USB stick, 2GB or less works for me everytime.

Hi All,

I'm also having some issues printing to a Smartdate X40 using Ethernet.
We can ping the X40 and open the internal webpage but the printjobs keep on hanging in the spooler file.
The manual does not contain much info on this subject and I've contacted Markem but they do not want to give support because we are not using Colos.
Searching the web also did not provide me with an answer.

Any tips & tricks would be really appreciated.

Kind regards,

Ferry

Hello,
NiceLabel can print to any printer that has a Windows print driver available for it. NiceDrivers are avaiable for some specific Markem models:
http://www.nicelabel.com/downloads/nicedrivers/markem

If your model is not listed here, you can still use a Windows print driver supplied from the printer manufacturer if available and print from NiceLabel.

How is your computer connected to the printer?

Is it TCP/IP connection?

If yes please make sure you are using "Advanced TCP/IP" port (provided with the driver).
Port number on Markem printers is also not the standard 9100 but should be 20000 (or at least it was on our Markem printer).
