CAB XD4 driver

Post by captainplanet » Thu Jun 25, 2015 10:37 am

Hello all,

As far as I know, because of Nicelabels CAB driver, it is not possibble to print inverse barcodes with Nicelabel on CAB printer. Am I right?
If yes, is there any chance to modify the driver?
If I am not, what should I set up, to be able to print inverse barcodes?

Thank you in forward!

Hi,

Label Setup -> Printing -> (disable) use advanced printer driver interface

then its possible to use the :create Inverse object

but in this case 'all content of your label' will transmittet as 'graphic data'

Hi,
I tried, but if i disable this option, the printing is not working properly.
if i want to print two labels, the printer prints one with the front side (printed on both side of the labelmaterial), and another one with the rear side(also printed on both side of the labelmaterial).

We don't have the printer here to test so I'd like to confirm something so I am sure I understand the issue correctly.

You have designed a double sided label.
If you print it it once (quantity one) it works correctly.
If you print it twice (quantity two) it prints one label with front portion on both sides and then the second label with back portions on both sides.

When printing with advanced interface turned on the labels print correctly regardless of the quantity you set.

Are the above statements correct?

Hi Tekumze,

see my answers below in red.

You have designed a double sided label. yes
If you print it it once (quantity one) it works correctly. not tried, will check
If you print it twice (quantity two) it prints one label with front portion on both sides and then the second label with back portions on both sides. yes

When printing with advanced interface turned on the labels print correctly regardless of the quantity you set. yes

Hello,

I made some pictures to make my problem more clear.

the quantity was setup to 1.
the printer printed 2 labels. the result:

the front and the rear side of the first label:

the front and the rear side of the second label:

I think because of this malfunction it is not possible to print inverse object on CAB printer, if the label was made with Nicelabel.
Is there any chance, that later this will be possibble?

Thanks for the pictures. It helped me understand what happens. I'll try to explain as it's a bit complicated.

Cab printers with two sides or colors (printers with more then one printhead) work in a specific way.
They will "halve" the designed label width. The left half is put one one print head. The right part on the second print head.
That's exactly what you're seeing on the pictures.

When advanced interface is enabled then NiceLabel and driver work around that requirement to make it easy for the user.

When the advanced interface is disabled the user has to design double width labels to compensate for the (now disabled) Nicelabel/driver logic.

So if you need to disable the advanced driver interface you also need to redesign the labels to work.

In your case I would
1) Double the label width
2) Move all elements from the back label to the front one and put it on the right side of the (now double width) label.
3) Remove the back label (it is considered as a second page when advanced interface is disabled)

If you print this new label (that appears too large) it should be printed correctly without advanced interface.

I hope this helps

Hello,

Unfortunatelly in Nicefrom this inverse object print is not working.

If I open the labelfile in Nicelabel Pro, and I print the label via Nicelabel, it is working properly. The printer prints the inverse barcode.

But if I open it with Niceform (my collegaues use forms to print) instead of the inverse barcode, there is only a black rectangle, and the printer prints a black rectangle, too.

Is there any solution for this issue? Or the only way to print inverse barcode is, if I generate an inverse barcode with an other software, and copy-paste it, and print it as a picture?

Sorry, I made a mistake, it is working... :?
